Hayden Out With Injury
The Kentucky Kid’s 2017 preparations are put on hold
Nicky Hayden will sit out of the two-day winter test that gets underway for the Honda WorldSBK Team tomorrow at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain. The 35-year-old American rider twisted his knee while flat-track training near Barcelona last Friday, after completing the first winter test of the season at MotorLand Aragón.
Hayden returned to the United States and will undergo further medical examinations today, which will give a complete diagnosis on the extent of the injury, before any decision regarding medical procedure is taken. The team have confirmed that updates will be released as soon as more information becomes available.
Hayden’s new team mate Stefan Bradl will be the sole rider carrying out testing duties with the Honda WorldSBK Team in Jerez following an impressive debut on the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP at MotorLand Aragón last week.
